Spring Term just before midterms
Hi all!
This term started out strong and has waned to a nice pace. In studio we have a visiting young professor and a real site with a semi real client! We are redesigning the landscape around St Vincent de Paul's First Family Center. It's a place for families in transition to come during the day as well as a preschool. I have gone down the rabbit hole of creating an "Edible Edge". I'm working on creating a welcoming environment as well as a food providing fun place to be.
To really get an idea here is the Bing map, click on ariel view and zoom in to the push pin, that's the actual site: http://www.bing.com/maps/Default.aspx?encType=1&v=2&ss=ypid.YN722x12549772&style=r&mkt=en-us&FORM=LLDP
Tentative Plan view of the site
Tiered planting of veggies and rows of corn, fruit trees with a raised walk way near by. Also the green rectangle is a grape covered trellis in the preschool playground!

The following is a rough sketch of the entrance:
Ian's visit was amazing but way way too short. We went to Saturday market and found a few thing for his redesign of his motorcycle!
Some of the flowers he helped me gather for my room, never realized how useful a tall, strong guy is for picking flowers from trees :D
Finally got a good picture of the Christmas gift from ian!
The rest of the pilfered flowers
The gorgeous bracelet Ian got me at saturday market!

My favorite new coffee place!
Saturday Market with katherine!
The new view from my studio!
